Malawi News and Prayers

Dear Family and Friends
Praise the Lord for His goodness and faithfulness to us. We are grateful to you our prayer warriors who care for us and pray for us! We wanted to share these things with you this month.
Praise for Mzimba Association Meeting
Thank you so much for your prayers for the meeting last weekend. There was a good group of people in attendance and some good people were chosen as leaders. There seemed to be a sense of unity and fellowship among those who attended. Please pray for each of these chosen leaders that the Lord would work in them personally and through them to advance His kingdom here in the Mzimba District. We pray for a spirit of unity among them and that they will be diligent to meet together regularly for prayer and seeking the Lord's leadership in encouraging existing churches and starting new ones. Pray that the Lord will give them a vision of what HE wants to do here and that we would all be committed to seeing people come to Christ and grow in Him here in Mzimba.
Volunteer Team
Six people from central Missouri will be coming to work here in Mzimba on July 20. The team consists of 5 members of Southridge Baptist Church in Jefferson City. They are: Lena Mantle (Gary's sister), Don Smith, Ryan Smith, and Larry & Beth Ayres. Also coming is Kay Robertson, Gary's Mom! We are so excited they are coming! Here are some things we would like to ask you to pray for during these next weeks.
1. We ask that you pray for all the logistics of travel - for safety in travel, all the luggage would arrive with them, rest and health on the plane, health for all of us during the time here, healthy translators, no funerals, good electricity, water and communication, etc.
2. We especially ask you to pray for the Lord to work mightily in the areas of Eswanzini, Kaso, and Malangizi. The team will be witnessing every morning in different villages going hut-to-hut. In the afternoons some team members will continue to do witnessing and 1 or 2 others will lead a discipleship class of the book "Good News for You".
3. Ask the Lord to prepare the hearts of those who will hear a clear presentation of the Gospel. We pray that the Lord will direct the team to those He has ready to hear the message and are ready to respond.
4. We are also praying that those who respond will attend the daily discipleship times so that they can grow in their faith.
5. Lastly, we pray that the few church members who are there will be faithful to do follow-up with those who have responded and vibrant churches will grow for the glory of God!
Family
Thank you sooooo much for all the birthday greetings and wishes for me (Michelle) and Samuel! We both had great celebrations of our birthdays and felt very loved by the Lord and by others! Michelle went to a fun ladies night in Lilongwe. Samuel had 2 celebrations - one in Lilongwe at a 'baseball' game with fellow missionaries and MKs and one at home with some other missionaries and MKs who came down for the day to celebrate with us!
We have been enjoying the break from school and have been working hard to do lots of 'spring cleaning' in preparation for our guests. Samuel and Lydia have been playing with lots of neighborhood children recently and Samuel had a pretend game he made up with them called the Kids World Cup. They are enjoying playing with these friends.
We are grateful to you for your prayers and we would love to know how we can pray for you as well! We look forward to updating you next month on what the Lord has done here in Mzimba through this volunteer team.
