Malawi News and Prayers

Dear Family and Friends
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to each of you! Our prayer is that each one of us would "fix our eyes on Jesus" this Christmas season - HE is truly the reason we celebrate!
Thank you so much for your faithful prayers for us. If you would like for us to send you an email with a family picture, just let us know. Please allow us share how God is at work here and how you can pray for us.
Rudds
Well, surprise, surprise, the Rudds are in the states!! They landed December 13, but we have waited to announce it because they surprised their daughter on December 16! She was expecting them to come home in January!! Please pray for the Rudds as they settle back into life in the states. We will greatly miss them. They are already enjoying time with family and the Lord is blessing them.
Mzimba Baptist Pastor
We have wonderful, amazing news! Ollen Sosole has agreed to come and serve as pastor of Mzimba Baptist Church! We are beyond thrilled and we praise the Lord for this amazing answer to prayer! He came Dec. 18 to teach, preach and meet with the church 'in view of a call'. We could see and hear his heart to serve and teach God's Word. Please pray for Ollen, his wife and their family as they prepare to move to Mzimba on February 1. Please pray that the church will be faithful to give and provide for this pastor. Pray that the Holy Spirit will do a mighty work in and through Ollen and this church as they seek to reach the town and district of Mzimba.
Wells
Unfortunately the wells have not been started. The well truck is in Mzimba and is awaiting the arrival of the next fuel truck....hopefully soon. Please pray for wisdom in handling this situation and that the Lord will truly be glorified in this situation.
Lottie Moon Christmas Offering
This offering supports around 5,000 missionaries around the world sharing the hope of Christ! All of the money of the offering goes directly to the work of missionaries on the field. Please pray that the Lord will provide the needs of this offering as the set goal is $175 million. We are SO grateful to you for your gifts to this offering. We truly could not be here without them!
Family
We thank you for your continued prayers for our family. Just a few "fun facts" about our family.
Lydia turned 7 on December 7! She LOVES the outdoors - flowers, rocks, mud, etc. She is so great at decorating and making things "fancy" for us by bringing in fresh flowers for the table or setting special things out for all to enjoy. She is enjoying first grade, her favorite subject being science.
Samuel is 9. His life is all about sports, sports, sports. He has learned lots of geography by studying where various teams are! He loves to look at sports scores, play sports and any kind of competition. He is in third grade and his favorite subject is math.
Gary loves to study God's Word, read books about History, and study geneology.
Michelle loves to do Beth Moore Bible studies and read a few blogs (her favorite is Sally Clarkson's).
Please pray for each of us to grow in our walk with the Lord this year! Please pray for strength in the daily task of living, working, and doing school in Malawi. Pray that the Lord will guide and direct us in all that we do!
We pray the Lord's blessings on each of you during the Christmas season and this coming new year! We look forward to seeing many of you in the coming year as we plan to go on our stateside assignment in late April!!
